Inaugrated in September 2006 with 12 members, 6-15 years of age. Now comprises of 25 students from different schools.
Meetings are held every Saturday for 1 hour in the Parish Hall. Through games & other activities the children are
instructed on values of social life - loving one another inspite of differences, values of the Kingdom and their Missionary vocation.
Facilitating the imparting of the missionary spirit amoungst children & inculcating the importance of the Salvation of souls.

Initiated in 1999 under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Stanley Abeysekera.
Granting scholarships to needy children at the rate of Rs. 500 per child - this year 27 receipents Helping to home a poor street lady at the 'Home of Compassion'Mattakuliya. Rs.25,000 from proceeds of a musical show donated to ' Home of Compassion'. Conducting of weekly medicalcamps.

Catechism classes have been provided continously for over 40 years. Approximately 160 children attend the religious
education classes conducted by 26 teachers.
Classes are conduted in all 3 languages from Gr. 1 to GCE O/L.Held from 9.45 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.Participation of children in - Yearly Children's day at Tewatte Bible Quiz Parish Lenten Pilgrimage Dioceasan Catechetical Examinations Year end Prize-giving with concert

Founded in the late Nineteen forties. At present it has a membership of 12.
 
Meetings are held once a month.Monthly pension scheme for 12 poor elderly parishioners.Finding employment. Distribution of food parcels on Easter Sunday & Christmas Day. Distribution of dry rations to 12 pensioners on Maundy Thursday. Supermarket gift vouchers given to 12 pensioners on the 27th Sept:Feast of St. Vincent De Paul.Fund raisers - Cookery Demonstrations, Collecting & Selling of old newspapers, & Jumble Sale etc. The biggest fundraiser - Cookery Demonstration in 1999 - Rs.67665 was raised.
Work at evangelizing the poor,especially the more abandoned.Helping the poor, the sick & the aged of the Parish.

Visitation and care of the handicapped, sick and the elderly and making arrangements for a Priest to visit them if necessary. Visiting patients at Durdans Hospital Weekly. Recitation of Rosary at Funerals. Visiting homes of Parishioners. Seeng to regularising of Marriages and Baptisms. Welcoming new Parisioners. Organising daily Rosary and Mass. and closing ceremony during the month of May Devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Organsing Feast Days dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Spreading Devotion and reverence to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Spreading the glory of God through the holiness of it's members, developed by prayer and active co-operation under ecclesiastical guidance in Mary's and the Church's work, in combating evil and advancing the reign of Christ.

Conducting prayer meetings by visiting houses every week. From 20th to 23rd visiting the houses to sing carol songs.
Visiting hospitals and helping patients and cleaning the hospital. Combining with other Parish youth and developing fellowship. Helping the members of the Parish to get rid of smoking, prevent from consuming alcohol by organizing meetings with the Father.

Helping the needy people. Increasing the number of members in the Parish. Taking the youth on a right track to live a catholic life.

Confraternity of the Sacred Heart

Available records show that the Confraternity was in existence in 1991 and may have been founded several years previously
Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month.

We now number around 25 active members

Our meetings include discussions on relevant topics which may be initiated by the Parish Priest or by a member.

Enthronements and Renewals are held at the residences of our members and others as well.

Some of our members were responsible for putting together the parish web site www.stacc.lk

Special projects are also undertaken from time to time Eg Get-together for senior parishioners.

Conducting Holy Hour services. A fellowship evening is conducted for the Senior Parishioners of the church each year. The feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated each year with Holy Mass, and conferment of the Red Ribbon with the Medal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on new Members. This is followed by a Fellowship Dinner. Bible study classes Wednesday 6.30pm - 8.00pm at the Samaja Sarana Centre.

The Mothers’ Union was established in 1999 and has been functioning continuously with around 5 to 10 active members. 

Over the years, various community projects have been undertaken and carried out successfully and some of them are Youth Seminars, Seminars for Mothers, Seminars for Parents, Retreats, Visits to Elders Homes, Project to provide school books for a school in a remote area, organizing Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day in the parish, etc.  An annual Christmas Party is also organized every year in December for the less privileged children of the area.
